Hopcott Beef

Availability: Year Round

Naturally Raised -No added hormones, steroids or antibiotics.Grass forage fed while on the ranches & finished on a high roughage diet of a mixture of our own grass & corn silage, along with limited amounts of high quality grain. We believe in humane animal management and animal welfare is a top priority. - Local -The animals are born on 1 of 3 ranches, which we visit on a regular basis, and spend the first half of their lives roaming the land. The Anderson Family at Kane Lake Ranch in Lumby, BC The Pincott Family at Pincott Ranch in 100 Mile House, BC The Andrews Family at Big Smokey Ranch in Merrit, BC. They then spend the next half of their lives on our farm, right next door to the store, where we have full quality control. - Quality & Taste -We use the traditional method of aging our AAA Grade beef by hanging it on the rail and dry aging it for 28 days, as opposed to more common wet aging in cryovac bags.Dry aging allows the natural enzymes to slowly tenderize the meat & evaporate the moisture to create a more concentrated & enhanced depth of flavour. For this reason,we do not need to needle our beef. - Selection -We are a full custom butcher shop that handle the entire animal. We also have fully trained butchers who specialize in the breaking down and cutting of complete animal carcasses. For these reasons,we able to offer our customers a vast array of beef cuts.Know your butcher. Know your food.See here for a list http://www.hopcottmeats.ca/Beef

Hopcott Chicken

Availability: Year Round

Our chicken comes from high quality birds grown by local poultry farmers within the Fraser Valley. Our birds are free run and are raised on a wheat based diet. Free run means the birds are given the freedom to wander around an enclosed barn. Our chicken is raised without added growth hormones, as per Canadian regulations. They are not fed antibiotics and are HACCP certified. http://www.hopcottmeats.ca/Poultry

Hopcott Pork

Availability: Year Round

We heavily support Johnstons. The pigs are raised without hormones and are grain fed a tasty blend of wheat, barley and corn. Their primary protein sources include canola and soybean meal, and they are given lots of room to grow. Sow and piglets diets have added fats to increase energy level and plenty of vitamins and minerals are added to the pigs diet, to ensure healthy and strong animals. Human handling practices and animal welfare are extremely important in the production of high quality pork, and Johnston's is no exception.http://www.hopcottmeats.ca/Pork

Produce At Hopcott Farms

Availability: Fall, Summer

we grow our own non GMO corn on the cob and spray-free strawberries, raspberries & tay berries as well as brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and cranberries. In the summer, our produce is as fresh as can be, and we also sell frozen fruit mixes year-round. Outside of our own produce, we also sell local, seasonal fruits and vegetables grown at farms in the Fraser Valley, Lower Vancouver Island and the South Okanagan. Only in the winter months, when local produce is difficult to find, is it necessary to carry some items from the USA, such as yams, lemons, avocados and other organic items. After all, you can't live on meat alone, although sometime we know you'd like to.http://www.hopcottmeats.ca/Produce
